Job Title: Computational Scientist

Location: Kuruom School of Advanced Sciences (KSAS) in Lucknow, India

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Level: 0-2 Years

 

Role Description: 

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Computational Scientist to join our expanding team. This position will involve designing and developing machine learning models, building software applications, and collaborating with professionals from fields such as neuroscience and behavioral psychology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in software development, machine learning, and web technologies, along with a keen interest in working on innovative research and clinical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Develop Machine Learning Models - Build and deploy ML models for research and clinical applications, ensuring accuracy and scalability.
• Algorithm Development - Develop, test, and optimize machine learning algorithms to solve complex problems in neuroscience and behavior prediction.
• Data Preprocessing & Cleaning - Prepare and clean raw datasets for training and validation, ensuring high-quality inputs for model development. Knowledge of bioinformatics tools will be preferred.
• Software Development - Build user-friendly software applications for data visualization and analysis that support research workflows. Not mandatory, but will be a plus.
• Web Development - Design and maintain web platforms. Maintenance and upgrade of websites.
• System Integration - Integrate machine learning models and software tools with existing research platforms, ensuring scalability and robustness.
• Collaboration with Cross-Disciplinary Teams - Work closely with neuroscientists, psychologists, and other researchers to tailor software tools to their specific needs.
• Continuous Learning - Stay updated with the latest developments in AI, neuroscience, and behavioral research technologies to drive innovation.
• Software Tool Development - Contribute to the development of additional tools and software as required by the team.
• Technical Support & Documentation - Provide ongoing technical support to team members and stakeholders, documenting processes, code, and results.

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

• Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (other languages like R, Java, or C++ are a plus).
  • Solid experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., React, Django).
  • Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL or MongoDB will be a plus, but is not mandatory. However, data analysis and writing code for visualization/analysis/interpretation/validation will be required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to handle and process large, complex datasets.
• Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure) for model deployment.
  • Background in neuroscience or behavioral psychology research is an advantage (not mandatory).
  • Experience in UI/UX design to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to write clear technical documentation.

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree (BE or B. Sc or MS or M.Sc or MCA) in Computer Science, Data Science, Neuroscience, or related field.

Salary:

Competitive and above industry standards

• Gross monthly salary (Bachelor's Degree) - Rs 50,000 – 60,000
• Gross monthly salary (Master's Degree) - Rs 70,000 – 80,000
